New Orleans

march300 MARCH AND RALLY IN NEW ORLEANS

On a beautiful day in south Louisiana, in a city that is still in total collapse, activists came from Texas, Oklahoma, Massachusetts, New York, and Mississippi, to grace our city in support and solidarity with the people in the city of New Orleans. The lead organizer for the demonstration was the New Orleans Coaltion Against War. Louisiana native Sgt. James Circello, an active-duty war resister, and former soldier, was the keynote speaker.

A rise in the south

Oct. 27th was the first time there has been a peace rally in the deep south that anyone showed up for. This is a moment in history. Even though there were only 300 at the rally, as we marched there were thousands of business owners and their patrons giving peace signs, cheering us on, clapping and yelling out colorful anti-bush and anti-war phrases. It was heartening to see so much positive support in such a red state. There were only two pro war comments on the march through the french quarter.

Pro's & Con's

Gathering of Eagles take on the O27 protestors in NOLA.

3 against 300... Apparently we're Winning the War AND Losing the War at the same time... according to the "eagles".  Arguing with emotion rather than facts is a good sign of denial and generally makes you look like a loud fool.
